one invisible substance

When I think about the ‘substance’ of God, I consider this idea: before the creation of the Universe, there was not anything but God.  Genesis 1:1-4 reads:

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while the Spirit of God swept over the face of the waters.  Then God said, “Let there be Light”; and there was Light.  And God saw that the Light was good; and God separated the Light from the darkness.

When God created the Universe, what was there to create it out of, except out of Itself? God is the substance from which the Universe is created. As expressions of God, we too are creators in our own right. We create with our thoughts and feelings and words. We have the Power to mold the One Invisible Substance, the “stuff” that is God, AND we are using that Power all the time, even if we are unaware of it.

There is only One Presence, One Power, One Substance, and we are expressions of that Power, that Presence, that Substance.  We are creating our world, our experience, using the Substance that is God and that we are also. We are the Substance of God!  So we already have everything we could ever desire, we have only to mold it and bring it forth into manifestation by focusing our Thought and speaking our Word.

Some believe that money is a spiritual symbol of invisible spiritual substance. Spiritual substance is what the mystics call the invisible body of God out of which all things are created – your clothes, your jewelry, you shoes, and the chair you are sitting in. It’s all created out of one invisible substance called the body of God.

Here is a quote from Charles Fillmore, co-founder of the Unity movement along with Myrtle Fillmore, from the book “Dynamics for Living“:

There is an invisible thought-stuff on which the mind acts, making things through the operation of a law not yet fully understood by man. Every thought moves upon this invisible substance in increasing or diminishing degree. When we praise the richness and opulence of our God, this thought-stuff is tremendously increased in our mental atmosphere.

And this is from “The Revealing Word“, a metaphysical dictionary also written by Charles Fillmore:

revealing wordSubstance

The divine idea of the underlying reality of all things. Substance is everywhere present, pervades all things, and inspires to action. It underlies all manifestation and is the spiritual essence, the living energy out of which everything is made. Through substance all the attributes of Being are expressed. It sustains and enriches any idea that is projected into it.
